Monday
Today I had more energy than I've had in a long time. It's not as if you've been sucking it out of me, but I've just felt consistently drained. It's livable, but could be better. Today I felt more like myself which is usually tiring also. ;)
Tuesday
You will learn that I am obsessed with my day planner and lists. I can already picture you and your dad rolling your eyes at each other and saying, "Oh no, mom's pulling out her day planner. Here comes another list." As much as I enjoy staying organized on a daily basis, this was a particularly exciting day for me. I started to transfer information into my new day planner which starts in June and runs through to the end of the year. I got an awesome lump in my throat when on December 1, 2012 I got to write Due Date!!!!
Wednesday
I am so anxious to hear your heartbeat. So anxious. Only 9 more sleeps until your dad and I hear the sound I've been told is the best sound in the whole wide world.
Thursday
Tonight while watching Leslie Knope find out she won the race for city council on Parks and Recreation, I got emotional. I actually had tears welling up in my eyes. Seriously. That has got to be your fault. Hahahahaha. Your dad laughed at me so hard he farted twice. TMI, but with parents like us, it will be a miracle if you are not a gassy baby, kid and even adult.
Friday
Tonight your dad and I went on a movie date. It was actually his idea. He is not much of a movie watcher so I jumped on it when he brought it up. We went to see The Avengers. It was really good. So good that I had to pee about 10 minutes into it, but held it until the end of the movie - almost peeing my pants more than once - because I didn't want to miss anything.
Your dad and I could be better at date nights. It's something I want to make a priority when I come up with my 101 in 1001 list. We do spend a lot of time together, but I think there are ways we could make it more special and liven it up a bit.
Saturday
Our deck is gone! While I did some light work in the front yard, your dad demolished the deck in the backyard. Although there is a bit of a mess left behind from all the leaves and junk that was underneath it, it looks so much better without it! We are trying to slowly turn the backyard into a place for Miller and Ridge AND us. Currently it's their playground which is fine, but we need to find a balance so we can enjoy it too in between picking up 5 gallon pails of poop.
Sunday
Today is Mother's Day. Your dad barely had his eyes open before he wished me a Happy Mother's Day/Mother To Be Day! How awesome! This time next year our Mother's Day morning will include bringing you into bed with us to have some quiet cuddle time before we enjoy the day as a family.
I spent an awesome day with Grandma Susie. There were a lot of years I wasn't able to be with her for Mother's Day and I know how lucky I am to be able to now. We headed into Regina to do some shopping which included buying some baby clothes too. It felt so great to walk into Carter's/Osh Kosh knowing that I was there for you, not Elliot or anyone else's kids, just you.
You're Kidding . . . Right?!

Week 6 - Terrible Tasty Ideas
Monday, April 30th, 2012 - Sunday, May 6th, 2012
Again there are some blanks this week. I apologize.
Monday
Miss Charli Morhart lubs (loves) your dad. She has a total crush on him. She's 5. On her way to swimming tonight, driving past our house, she asked her mom if they could come visit. They stopped by afterwards and she spent about 5 minutes upstairs with me and Schmidt and then headed straight downstairs to visit with your dad and the dogs. We could hear her/them chatting away as if they were old friends meeting for coffee. Too cute!
Wednesday
You got some awesome mail today. The package was even addressed to you - Baby Mihalicz. Auntie Kaella and Uncle Jarod sent you a super cute stuffed elephant and a book for me with a bunch of how to be a good mom tips in it.
Ok so let me explain this Auntie and Uncle thing. You have a real Uncle Matt and Auntie Jen and Auntie Jaime and Uncle Steve, but you have lots of pseudo Aunts and Uncles. It's a term of endearment for some very important people in our lives. I have been honoured with being a pseudo Aunt for many amazing kids.
Friday
I decided to battle a Dairy Queen Confetti Cake Blizzard on our way to Saskatoon for your dad's club volleyball provincials. It was a terrible idea. Terrible. Terrible idea. I don't want to go into the disgusting details, but I hope with all my heart that you do not have the digestive issues I do. Or if you do, you are smart enough not to eat blizzards when you know what they could potentially do to you.
Saturday
I drank a smoothie from Booster Juice in about 47 seconds flat. I must have needed the protein and nutrients after the blizzard episode.
Your Auntie Jaime and I did a bit of running around today and then headed over to the gym to watch some volleyball and meet your dad for lunch. We also of course fit in time for a nap, followed by a night of total laziness and a lot of candy eating.
Today was Miss Rhyse's 2nd Birthday!! I can't wait to have my own mini-bday celebration with Rhyse and Ashton when they come to visit in July. Last year's celebration ended with them both crying and me singing Happy Birthday over top of their screams. It was so special!
You should see how they go all out for kid's birthday parties in Chicago . . . well maybe you shouldn't because I don't think your dad and I will be able to top Auntie Daniele and Uncle Jimmy's Cinco De Mayo themed bash for your 2nd Birthday.
Sunday
Today I didn't feel very well. Super nauseous throughout the morning. I think it was a combination of you and the handfuls and handfuls of candy I ate. Another terrible idea.

Week 5 - Being Introduced To The Not So Pretty Realities
Monday, April 23rd, 2012 - Sunday, April 29th, 2012
Monday
I pooped!! Thanks to a bedtime dose of Senokot-S I was put out of my misery. For now anyway. TMI . . . maybe, but it was definitely a highlight of my day.
Today was a struggle at work for me to keep my frustrations in check and I lost out in the end at around 4:30 p.m. Damn I only had another 30 minutes to go. I am sure you will learn - and at the same time I promise to work harder at bettering myself in this area - but your mom has a tendency to let her frustrations show and in turn affect her more than they should.
A trip to CrossFit Moose Jaw was exactly what I needed to clear my head. Keeping you in mind, I PR'd my Hang Power Snatch by 15 pounds. That's how you deal with frustrations.
I came home to your fabulous dad BBQing steaks for supper. Lucky!!
Tuesday
Tonight you're dad and I went to the Warriors playoff game. I wondered if you will play hockey, and while I had my face in my hands talking to myself for the last 5 minutes of the game, I worried about what kind of hockey mom I would be. I am guessing intense.
Wednesday
All afternoon today, all I wanted was Sour Patch Kids and a Slurpee. The idea consumed me. So I stopped at Safeway after work to pick up a few things, including Sour Patch Kids and Ju Jubes and Double Stuffed Oreos for your dad. I opted to skip the Slurpee since on the way home I realized I didn't have any cash and didn't want to debit $1.59.
The candies were heavenly. Auntie Kaella said she craved Sour Patch Kids too. So weird.
Thursday
After work today I met up with Karen and Nic for supper. Since before Christmas we've made an effort to get together once every couple months. This was our third dinner date and I can't wait for the next one. We decided we would take food out to Karen's house since she is due to give birth to what I can only imagine will be the cutest mini cowboy EVER in about four weeks. (Tatem James Jeffrey Thue arrived on May14th!)
My favourite part about both these girls is how real they are. They say it like it is. No bullshit (ooops there's that swearing thing again). We talked a lot about the realities of pregnancy and labour. And we laughed and laughed.
They are both so very happy you are on your way. Again I am lucky to have THE BEST people in my life.
When I got home I did a little tidying up and then fell fast asleep on the couch before 9 p.m. You've sparked my love affair with sleep. I think your dad is starting to get jealous.
Friday
I had big plans to get some house cleaning done after supper tonight, but chilling on the couch watching playoff hockey with your dad and Miller and Ridge (and blogging) won out. I can clean tomorrow and Sunday.
Saturday
Today I am 9 weeks pregnant. According to my What To Expect app you are 1.5 inches long and the size of a prune. Of all the fruits to compare the size of a baby to, I can't understand why they would choose a dried up plum.
Sunday
Today started out a little bit sluggish, but I found some energy somewhere and headed out in the afternoon to watch your dad's volleyball team play. He is such a great coach and those girls are lucky to have him. I hope one day he coaches you. I am sure you would both love it!

Week 4 - Time Still Flies When You're Pregnant
Monday, April 16th, 2012 - Sunday, April 22nd, 2012
Wow . . . it's already Thursday night and this is the first time I am sitting down to write about this week. Here's a recap.
Monday
Today was Grandpa Dougie's 62nd Birthday! You are going to adore that man. It's absolutely impossible not to.
I decided to eat cake along with everyone else to celebrate. The gluten and wheat didn't wreak havoc on my system like it normally would. Maybe that's thanks to you. When we were leaving I gave dad a hug and a kiss and said Happy Birthday and then turned to mom and wished her a Happy Birthday too. I think that brain lapse was definitely thanks to you.
Tuesday
Drawing a blog blank. Oooops.
Wednesday
Tonight was the Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence awards. SaskWater sponsors an award so I attended with a group of co-workers. It's a great event highlighting local business and was even greater this year when Sharleen won the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for CrossFit Moose Jaw. What an awesome validation of the chances she took opening her own business!
I hope you have the courage to take chances that will make you happier and get you closer to your dreams. It's not always easy and it's almost always scary, but the experiences along the way are so worth it.
Thursday
Nothing exciting to report. Sorry.
Friday
After work we headed to Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Ken's for a quick visit. We had to pick up our half a pig and some more beef too. We're so lucky to have a freezer full of meat thanks to them.
I did my best to stay up a little later than usual to visit, but it's hard when I get into my spot on their couch, recline the seat and grab a blanket. Pregnant or not, at that point I have a really hard time staying awake. No matter the time of day.
We also dropped off a stroller for them to keep at their house. They can't wait to take you on walks. Grandma Debbie and I unfolded it to see how it would work, but of course couldn't figure out how to fold it back up. Your dad figured it out in less than a minute. He's going to be handy to have around ;)
Saturday
Today we went to visit Great Grandma Judy Mihalicz and told her that we're pregnant. We woke her up from a deep sleep so it took her a bit to understand what was going on. She is excited for us and we told her we'd be back to visit and show her my bump and ultrasound pictures.
Your dad let me tell her about you since my grandparents aren't alive anymore. I promise to tell you about them all one day. I was lucky to have them just like you will be to have yours. There really isn't anything more special than grandparents.
We stopped to visit with the Needhams before we headed home too. I love that family!! Our visit started with a story about their youngest Blake and alittle huge poop mishap in their kitchen. The story even had photos to go with it illustrating what they called the poop panoramic, poop on the fridge, poop on the stove, poop on the dishwasher, poop on the cupboards. I hope if you ever paint our kitchen with poop I can laugh, take pictures and clean it up without losing my patience completely.
Sunday
So much for that toast. Only seconds after I had finished my last bite of breakfast, I immediately had to throw up. I hate getting sick and fight it with everything I have, but there was no fighting this.
That being said today has been a bit of a waste. Not the crazy productive Sunday I usually have. Before the morning sickness your dad and I laid in bed for a while looking through a baby name book. Wow. There are some, ummmm how should I put it, unusual names out there. Don't worry we won't call you Conk or Gergis.
Your dad came up with Milan or Mihaly (and I think he was only partly joking), which I turned down immediately. He came back with Carl, Phil or Roy. So we've decided to refer to you for the time being as Baby Roy. Again, don't worry. That name won't stick.

Week 3 - Sore Boobs?
Monday, April 9th, 2012 - Sunday, April 15th, 2012
Monday
According to my What To Expect app, you are the size of a blueberry now. A blueberry that put me fast to sleep on the couch shortly after 9 p.m. tonight. When your dad tucked me in bed, I apologized for being lame. He said "don't be sorry, you're making lungs and stuff in there." Did I mention he is going to be a great dad?!
Tuesday
My boobs felt a little bit bigger today. I grabbed and poked them a couple times to decide whether they were sore too. It hurt when I poked myself square in the right nipple, but I think that would hurt anyone, pregnant or not.
Wednesday
I registered for Ladies Night Golf tonight. I wonder how long I will be able to golf this year before my fabulous bump gets in the way.
Thursday
Not that I really needed it after about 9 or 10 pregnancy tests, but . . . we got confirmation from my doctor today that you are in fact in my belly. He confirmed the due date at December 1, 2012 and sent me for blood work.
Before the lab tech drained me of about six viles of blood she asked me when my due date was and whether this was my first pregnancy. It felt so incredible to answer those questions.
Then she directed me into the bathroom where I had to pee into a very very small cup and divide the pee out of that cup into two test tubes. Seriously! Again . . . pee everywhere.
I got to have a super long visit with Tevi and your future long distance boyfriend or best bud Lennox tonight. They are so happy for us and can't wait to meet you. You are being born into a ready made group of amazing friends.
Friday
Today is Friday the 13th and I am in a mood. I would like to blame you and pregnancy mood swings, but that probably isn't fair. I feel better now, but I was so grouchy I succumbed to a major fit of road rage on my way home at lunch. Yikes!
Your dad and I are going into Regina tonight to take back the leftover flooring, buy an area rug and go out for supper. That should cheer me up in no time!
Saturday
See Lucky . . . for a few hours post. It was a great Saturday despite the poop mishap. And my boobs hurt for real today! Yay!! An actual pregnancy symptom. Thanks!
Sunday
Today I am 7 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I was exhausted, a little bit nauseous and my boobs are still sore. I love it! It's hard for me to spend a lot of time just relaxing on the weekends because I always feel there is so much to do around the house. I powered through in the morning and got some laundry done, tidied up a bit and washed the floor all before 10:30 a.m. Your dad handled the vacuuming and some other little chores so I felt we could both have a lazy rest of our Sunday and not feel bad about it.
Auntie Jen, Uncle Matt and E moved into their new house today. You are going to love it! It is a beautiful home and I know you will spend loads of time there playing with your cousin(s).
